Lift me up

Not just a single person, but all of mankind,
Asks for mercy, when all they are is blind,
‘Cause mercy is theirs, just as it has always been.
The gods of the past saw the unseen.

My hands start to burn,
My senses return…
Illuminated thoughts like crystals sublime
My thinking no longer bound by space and by time,
nor by grief or any other belief,
Oh, how I wish you’d share this ultimate relief,
Unexpectedly desires leave me be,
Lift me up and I’ll set you free…

Bothered by pictures of our self-made truth,
Searching the eternal fountain of youth,
We refuse to follow the circle of life,
We refuse to accept only our souls will survive.

My skin starts to glow,
My emotions begin to flow…
My head starts spinning around and around,
I follow the heavens, I’m losing ground,
Fear dissolves in the warmth of my breath,
Slowly I’m bringing my mind to its death,
Unexpectedly desires leave me be,
Lift me up and I’ll set you free…

Down here, we cannot fly…
Some things we cannot defy…
Down here, we just have to cope…
on the surface there’s only hope…

Down here,
We can only dream,
Down here,
We are like the Seraphim.
